About the Artist

Sheila Raimer

I was born and raised in a small town in southern Wisconsin, where my earliest connection to art was shaped by a remarkable high school teacher, Frank Schlumpf. His patience, encouragement, and belief in the creative process laid the foundation for everything I understand about making art. I carry deep gratitude for the way he opened that door.

Life took me in many directions before I returned to painting. Decades later, it was the quiet rhythm and natural beauty of Costa Rica that allowed my artistic voice to reemerge. Here, I rediscovered the joy of creating—slowly, intentionally, and with a renewed sense of purpose.

My work now reflects that journey: rooted in the Midwest, reborn in Costa Rica, and shaped by the teachers and landscapes that have stayed with me.
